Film Opening Sequence

Matilda Opening Sequence
The film is Based on the book Matilda, by British children's author Roald Dahl, the movie is based on an extremely curious and intelligent little girl who is very different from her low-brow, mainstream parents, who quite harshly ignore her. As she grows older, she begins to discover that she has telekinetic powers. Not until a teacher shows her kindness for the first time does she realize that she can use those powers to do something about her sufferings and help her friends as well. In the opening scene of Matilda, conventions of a children's film are used by introducing all the characters. The parents of Matilda are presented straight away as incapable parents; they show a lack of love and caring personalities towards Maltilda and everything that has to do with her. This is show to us when they get inside the car and they don’t  seat belt up the baby in the car on the way home from the hospital and when they get home they leave her in the car. The narrator describes the Wormwood's as '' not very nice people''.
From the very first shot Matilda is followed by the camera, this gives the audience an instant realization that Matilda is going to be the main character. Following the conventions the main character has something different about them over the other characters; Matilda is shown to be an obedient child and very respectful in school and also in the family. Matilda in the movie is being described as an '' extraordinary child '' and the parents being to unloving to care helps determine the plot of the story.  The mood in the opening scene of the movie is very happy and upbeat. The colours used are bright and colourful and the music is upbeat this draws the attention of the target audience which is children.
Finding Nemo
Finding Nemo is a computer-animated film from Pixar. It is clearly a children's film from the bright colours and animations this film is set under the sea as an establishing shot. The characters are introduced straight away; these are the father and the son Nemo. The father is over protective of Nemo. When it establishes the scene it is fairly slow paced but when Nemo wakes up is father it is very abrupt and the pace increases into an energetic scene, and makes the audience realize the genre (children's film) even better.  Marlin becomes overprotective of his remaining son, Nemo. On his first day of school, Nemo gets fed up with Marlin's fear of the ocean, and ends up disobeying his father's orders by going near a boat. Soon after, Nemo gets "rescued" by a scuba diver, and Marlin, going against all his fears, goes off to find him. Marlin joins up with a forgetful blue tang named Dory, and they brave all sorts of obstacles to find Nemo.
Love& Basketball
The film is based on thirteen years of friendship between childhood sweethearts Monica Wright and Quincy McCall. The film is split into four quarters; in the first, Monica and her family move to Los Angeles in 1981 from Atlanta, Georgia and become acquainted with their new neighbors the McCall’s, a wealthy family due to Quincy's father Zeke being the shooting guard for the San Diego Clippers. Quincy and Monica are drawn to each other and share a passion of basketball.
The second quarter begins in 1988 when Monica and Quincy, still friends, are the respective leaders of their high school teams. Scouts have taken clear notice of Quincy, who many see as one of top prospects in the country. His popularity is evident on the court as well with several girls who attend his school. Monica, on the other hand, struggles with her fiery emotions on the court, which hinders her career to the point that scouts turn away from her. She also struggles with the emotions she secretly still harbors for Quincy. Eventually, Monica learns to control her emotions and leads her team to the state championship game, where they lose. She recovers from the loss with the help of her older sister, Lena, who gives her a makeover and finds an attractive college friend to take her to the spring dance. At the dance, Monica and Quincy act jealous towards each other and their respective dates. Later that night, they speak outside her window and reveal to each other how their dates did not meet their needs. She lets him know that she has a letter from USC and insists he opens it. After the letter reveals that she has been accepted, he finally vocalizes that USC was also his choice. As they congratulate one another, the two realize their feelings for each other.
